The National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) establishes requirements for the performance of physical examinations for truck and bus drivers by licensed healthcare professionals. Effective May 21, 2014 only healthcare professionals who have completed the necessary training and passed NRCME's certification test will be allowed to issue medical certificates to commercial motor vehicle drivers. As a part of the Medical Examiners Champion Program, we hope that you will learn more about this important safety initiative of the Federal Medical Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA). The INPE NRCME Training Course prepares healthcare providers with the knowledge needed to successfully complete the mandatory NRCME certification test. The course online course is delivered through 8 course modules. In addition to the lectures, printable handouts, additional videos, and lists of recommended NRCME and FMCSA resources are included. Quizzes validate successful course completion and a sample test-bank is also offered to help learners study and prepare for the NRCME test.

COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE: DIABETES
In January 2014, INPE convened a panel of NPs to consider the value and feasiblity of an online Community of Practice for NPs interested in diabetes management. This meeting was followed by a brief online survey to validate interest in the development of the proposed resource. The meeting was supported through a grant from Novo Nordisk.
